Women of the Future – Ambassadors Programme 2016

Once again, we had the honour of working with the esteemed Women of the Future organisation, covering their Ambassadors Programme for 2016.

This event is a unique initiative, created by Pinky Lilani OBE DL and her team. As with every event we cover for WoF, it is particularly special as they bring 100 ambassadors to the event to connect with 100 female sixth-formers, giving students unprecedented access to industry role models and providing invaluable guidance towards their future successes.

Gender parity is an important topic. One which we at High Life Productions often encounter and are asked to document in our video work. It is an absolute pleasure to be at the forefront of such an crucial issue and covering this event made us realise quite quickly that the future of women in industry is looking brighter than ever. Long may it continue!

You can now see the finished video here, enjoy!

Awards ceremony interviews

Helicopters, Awards, Comedians…and a Partridge in a Pear Tree!

Well, we definitely ended November with a bang. I’ve just got my breath back from an amazing and wonderfully varied few weeks, it’s gone from the ridiculous to the sublime! I zig zag-ed from big boots and warm coats on a helicopter shoot in remote Scottish isles to glad rags and handbags at two of our most inspiring annual events.

All in all, a great way to end 2014!

The first of the events we filmed was the Growing Business Award, a glamorous affair at the Marriott Hotel on Grosvenor Square, dahhhling! It’s always one of our favourite awards to film as it celebrates new, young talent and growing entrepreneurs in the UK. The awards themselves span several categories from retail, to food and manufacturing. Winners and nominees alike had a library of interesting and inspirational stories to tell, another big success by Real Business! Comedian Ed Byrne was such an entertaining host, he’s one of my faves so I had to take the opportunity to have a cheeky photo with him in between filming…sorry, Ed 🙂

Next up, was the Investec Mid Market 100 Summit, which reveals THE annual list of the top 100 mid market companies in the UK. It’s a real recognition to the UK Mid Market, who don’t routinely get enough attention in the UK even though they are responsible for an unbelievable £1 trillion of annual revenue and the employment of six million people. Definitely something to be celebrated!

We have actually been involved in this initiative from the beginning, producing all the content for the run up to this event, starting with the Mid Market Index film to launch the event…

…to the announcement of 100 companies that made up the list:

The event was held at the elegant Corinthia Hotel where the delegates were treated to a diverse range of expert speakers. Among those to take the podium were serial entrepreneur Sherry Coutu, business editor for The Times Richard Fletcher and Investec’s chief economist Philip Shaw. Last but by no means least,  the legendary Ryder Cup captain, Paul McGinny, spoke to the eager crowd, drawing on his experience and making parallels between the UK Mid Market and his tenure as Ryder Captain. HE couldn’t resist showing his skills on the pop up putting range that Investec had provided for the event, needless to say he managed a few hole in ones. I, however, will stick to my day job…

We’ve put together the event highlights for you – enjoy!

Everline Future 50

Lately, we were lucky enough to work with our favourite people at Real Business again! We covered the Everline Future 50 Event which was held in a very cool venue in Old Street.

During the event the Future 50 most disruptive UK companies where announced – using a fantastic animation created by the in-house team here at HLP.

The 50 companies were extremely diverse, from Service Providers, to Finance, Energy and  Marketing –  the list goes on…It was so inspiring to be in a room full of young entrepreneurs, and as an entrepreneurial business ourselves we take our hats off to everyone in the Future 50 and to anyone else out there who has an idea and runs with it!

Check out the Future 50 animation on our portfolio page.

First Woman Awards 2013

HLP recently covered the First Women Awards, a fantastic event run by Caspian Media.
The award nominees were a diverse mix of outstanding woman who have achieved so much in a variety of sectors. The category’s ranged from retail, finance, energy, charity and health. Each nominee deserved to win as they all had such inspiring stories to tell!
HLP filmed the judging day as well as the awards ceremony, meaning we got the fantastic opportunity to interview all the nominees! Key themes were the importance of supporting women in business and the growth of networking events globally to ensure that women succeed and have the opportunity to achieve what ever they set their sights on. As we all know there is a lack of women at senior/executive level. Women currently hold 4.2% of Fortune 500 CEO positions, so to have an event such as the FWA which focuses purely on women achieving in business is great!

The event itself was a night of glitz and glamour! The champagne was flowing and the atmosphere was electric. The fabulous Clare Balding MC’d the event and made no secret of the fact that FWA is her favourite awards ceremony!

All the winners were hugely deserving of their awards but special mention has to be made for the Life time Achievement award which went to Morella Kaymen from The Alzheimer’s Society www.alzheimers.org.uk, Morella is a remarkable woman and a very worthy winner.

Bring on next years awards!

IP Week 2013 – Why you need video coverage for your event

HLP recently covered one of the Energy Institute’s biggest conferences – International Petroleum Week.

IP Week is one of the biggest events within the energy sector’s calendar and attracts over 2,000 key influencers and senior decision-makers from around the world.

The three-day event features conferences, seminars, a high profile luncheon, an evening reception and an exhibition, as well as the prestigious IP Week Annual Dinner – the largest gathering in the industry’s annual calendar, with over 1,000 guests.
We had our crew there for the duration of the conference – filming interviews with all of the speakers, Vox Pops with the delegates and sponsors, as well as coverage of the amazing dinner they held in the Great Room at the Grosvenor Hotel – what a fabulous venue!
Hiring a video production company to cover key events like IP Week should be an integral part of any organisations event and marketing strategy, not only does it look good to the guests attending but it means that your event is captured in real time and the footage will be used to promote your next event. And as I’m sure you all know – video strengthens your brand! Its much more engaging and exciting to watch video content of an event rather than seeing some photos and a bit of text!
Have you seen any great event footage? We would love to see any examples! In the meantime have a quick glimpse of IP week on our portfolio page…Enjoy!

RAF Training Shoot

So HLP have been busy bees last week filming the final instalment of the RAF Fire and Training apprenticeship film. We have been following two of the apprentices since they started back in July, documenting both the physical and mental challenges that they faced over the 19 week course.

We have been lucky enough to follow two very different people, Emma, a female apprentice in her 30s who joined up after working in the city for a number of years, and Jo, a 19 year old male who joined up straight from college. It was interesting to capture their different perspectives and reactions to the challenges the course threw at them.

We have stayed on the RAF base in Manston for a week at a time since July and its been a great experience! Wether we were filming a live fire exercise or enjoying some downtime with the apprentices and instructors, it gave us a great insight into military life.

We are currently in post production and as always at HLP there is way too much good footage, the challenge now is how to cut it down and fit it into a 30 minute film!
